REN'S KITCHEN

Tailor-made Indian cooking classes in London
. . . a unique way to learn how cook delicious Indian meals

Ren's Kitchen is the brainchild of passionate 'foodie' Renuka Patel. Created out of a genuine love for cooking Indian food and collecting Indian recipes, Ren has set up cookery classes with the aim of providing lovers of Indian food the opportunity to create their very own dishes at home.

The classes are not a demonstration . . . you do the cooking in the convenience of your own home. Your experience in tailor-made to suit your taste buds and is designed to work around your life style.

Ren favours a hands-on approach in the kitchen to demonstrate just how easy it is to cook a curry and other Indian dishes.

"Once you have learnt the method in which herbs and spices are used you will be able to experiment and create dishes of your own", says Ren. "The experience will totally change your attitude towards Indian cuisine. When ordering in an Indian restaurant you will be more aware of what goes into your food, will get more particular about the Indian food you eat and find yourself questioning the ingredients."

Excellent teaching. I only wish I had done it sooner. Amazing results and thoroughly excited about cocking for once!

. . . or perhaps something a little different - a Spice Tour?

  THE EXPERIENCE

Tailor Made Indian Cookery Classes

At Ren's kitchen, you do the cooking not Ren - the classes are not a demonstration. The entire service is personal and completely bespoke. Ren finds out about your culinary skills, food likes and dislikes and then creates a customised class for you.

Classes are held in Ren's kitchen in Edgware (North-west London) or if you prefer she can come to your home (please ask for details).

Class details:

  • The classes are no bigger than three people.
  • All ingredients are supplied.
  • Only the freshest ingredients are used.
  • Each student takes food home for two people.
  • Each student receives recipe cards with step-by-step instructions and Ren's phone number on it so that they can call her whilst cooking if they need help!
  • Available to all Ren's students is their very own steel spice box complete with all the main spices they need to cook Indian food.

Why choose Ren's Kitchen?

Ren's love for Indian food is phenomenal, she loves to share her skills with other people and nothing pleases her more than when she gets phone calls or emails from students telling her how much they have enjoyed the experience and that they are cooking Indian food on their own. Ren is reliable and she is able to teach even a novice how to cook a basic curry that they can make themselves. She will teach anyone!

The Ren's kitchen experience is one that people come back for and is one that has been built up on word of mouth referrals.

As for Ren's students it gives them something to brag about . . . "did you know that I have my very own cookery teacher that has taught me how to cook the best curry ever!"

I cannot recommend Ren's one2one cooking classes highly enough. Not only are they really bespoke (we only used my favourite veggies and meat, furthermore we spiced it all to my taste) but it was a lot of fun and it's so easy to repeat the dishes now at home. Thanks a lot Ren, I'll be back for more.

About Ren

Ren's friends and family have always asked her for Indian recipes and tips on cooking and even come over to her house for cooking lessons. She soon realised that the combination of cooking and teaching was her passion! This was how Ren's Kitchen was created, cooking classes for fellow curry lovers.

Ren teaches and provides lovers of Indian food with the methods and tools to create their very own dishes at home.

Curry is the nations favourite food, most people either go out to restaurants to eat it, grab a 'takeaway' or buy lavishly photographed Indian cookery books only to find that they just can't get the flavours they crave quite right. That's where Ren gets involved. She teaches curry lovers how to cook authentic delicious Indian meals for themselves.

Ren I wanted to thank you for the wonderful day we spent in your Kitchen. It was one of the great highlights of the time spent with Rob and Lauren. We all loved it and felt like we learned so much. The meal was spectacular and everyone raved. I am looking forward to the next time I am able to learn with you.

SPICE TOURS

  THE SPICE TOUR

The Spice Tours were created by Indian cookery teacher Renuka Patel and Asian restaurant guide Mark Cowan as they wanted to create a tour which combined everything they knew about Asian culture and cooking whilst opening up two London communities to new visitors.

The Spice Tour aims to give everyone the opportunity to learn as much about Asian culture and cuisine as possible and then have the confidence to cook more adventurous Indian food using a greater range of ingredients and spices.

Both Spice Tours cover very distinctive communities in London. Ren and Mark decided to create two tours that they felt gave two very different experiences of Asian life, culture and cuisine.
