The
Gastronomicom Culinary School is located just outside
Vias sur Mer, near Beziers Airport and on the Mediterranean
coast between Montpellier and Perpignan.
Gastronomicom is fast becoming well known as the cooking
school and the French wine school of the Montpellier
area.
They
will introduce you to French cooking techniques, as
well as the French fine beverage and the French way
of learning the art of Fine dining in the world of Food
and Beverage .
Not
only is Gastronomicom a French culinary institute, but
it is also a place where you can learn the French language
and something about French wines.

The
school is located on the coast in a beautiful
resort of 23 hectares called La Dragonniere
in Vias sur Mer, and about 120km from the
spanish border.
The
climate is extremely pleasant and very sunny
throughout the year. It is set in a wonderful
landscape, with beautiful beaches, palm-trees,
excellent Mediterranean food and the most
important vineyard in Europe.
The
schools ultimate goal is that students improve
both, their skills and knowledge of the
French language and of food and beverage
and gastronomy, but will also enjoy visiting
the well-known region of Languedoc-Roussillon.

Language Lessons
For
beginner or advanced, this represents a great opportunity
to learn or to improve your professional vocabulary.
Together
with the French lessons you will study French cooking
or French wines or French fine dining. In the coursess
50% of the lessons are in French

school strongly suggest an English Level of about 550
points TOEFL (international English test Level)

Gourmet
Program
There
are three different one month programs:
- French
cooking with intensive French language lessons
- French
pastry with intensive French language lessons
- French
wines with intensive French language lessons
Length
of the program :
Four
weeks with twenty-five hours of lessons per week,
including cookery demonstrations or wine tasting and
visits to wine cellars.
All
the week-ends are free.
Gastronomic
Program
There
are seven different three months programs:

cooking with intensive French language lessons

Fine dining food and beverage with intensive French
language lessons

a four month training period in a luxury Hotel restaurant

dining food and beverage with intensive French language

Length
of the program :
Twelve
weeks with thirty hours of lessons per week, including
cookery demonstrations or wine tasting, visits to
wine cellars and thre organised professional and tourist
excursions (two in France and one in Spain).
All
the week-ends are free and there is a one week holiday
giving studenst a chance to see some of France.
DURING
EACH PROGRAM THE SCHOL WILL INVITE WELL KNOWN PERSONALITIES
FROM THE FRENCH FINE DINING AND WINE WORLD TO SHARE
THEIR PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE WITH YOU
For
the students holding a student visa, the school will
provide an internship in a luxury hotel restaurant or
restaurant in France .
During
the internship, the student will receive an indemnity
of approximately €300 per month plus full board
and accommodation.

With
the school being located in the beautiful La Dragonniere
club, students are accommodated at the club in apartments
for four persons, with three rooms, kitchen, bathroom,
separate toilet and a terrace to sit or eat outside.
(For single or two person accommodation, please contact
the School before your arrival, as changes are not possible
when you arrive).
There
is no phone in the cottage but the students can do their
telephone calls from the Club Front-office and use the
Internet plugs for their laptops.
Leisure
activities:
The
club, where the accommodation is located, has a heated
swimming-pool (1st April to 30th September),
a fitness-room, tennis courts, table tennis and volleyball.
